Hidayet Turkoglu scored a game-high 14 points to give Turkey a 2-0 start at the world basketball championship with a 65-56 victory over Russia on Sunday. Ersan Ilyasova of Milwaukee Bucks had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Omer Asik added anoter 10 points and seven rebounds.

ISTANBUL — Kevin Durant, who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, scored 14 points and got the U.S. started on a dominant second-quarter stretch in a 106-78 victory over Croatia on Saturday in its opening game at the world championship. Eric Gordon made four three-pointers and had 16 points to lead the Americans, who limited the Croatians to six points in the second quarter.
